Is the stamen the same thing as a microsporophyll?

Yes. The stamen is the male reproductive unit of a flower and it represents a microsporophyll. It makes microspores (which become pollen grains), so it is the male part. Do not confuse it with the whole androecium — the androecium is the collective name for all the stamens of one flower together.

What is the difference between the filament and the anther?

The filament is the long, thin stalk. Its lower end is attached to the thalamus or the petal of the flower, and it just holds up and positions the anther. The anther is the swollen top part that actually makes and stores pollen grains. So filament = support, anther = pollen factory. This split is a common NEET one-mark question.

Why is an anther called bilobed and dithecal?

Bilobed means the anther has two lobes when you look at it from the front. Dithecal means each anther has two theca (a theca is a pollen-sac chamber).
