A benign tumour stays in its original place and does not spread, so it causes little damage. A malignant tumour is made of neoplastic (tumour) cells that grow fast, invade nearby normal tissue, and spread to distant body parts. That spreading is called metastasis. Does a benign tumour spread through blood?
